Q. What is StreetPrint?
A. StreetPrint is the ability to create an impression into the asphalt surface using a combination of heat, a stamping template, and a plate compactor. This can be achieved by working behind a paver or reheating the asphalt with Integrated Paving Concepts patented infrared StreetHeat® asphalt reheating technology.
StreetPrint® is also known as Stamped Asphalt and is the Genuine Stamped Asphalt Solution.
Q. Can we install StreetPrint on one inch of asphalt?
A. For best performance you should install on stable asphalt, designed for the application and installed to spec. Most HMA mix designs will have a recommended thickness to be installed, which seems to usually be 1.5-2" compacted.
One of the general risks of installing asphalt too thin, and out of spec would be premature cracking and general performance issues that could all affect StreetPrint. Stamping a 3/8" grout line into the thin surface, could in turn create cracking in the grout line.
There is definitely more to the answer, but in short; there are risks unless that asphalt is engineered to be installed at 1”.

Q. What is the ideal substrate condition for StreetPrint?
A. Please view the StreetPrint Substrate Guide located here
Q. Are there any maintenance considerations for StreetPrint?
A. StreetPrint (printed asphalt) is as durable as the asphalt surface it is printed on. No maintenance is required for the actual print itself. If finishing products are used with StreetPrint (such as sealcoats or other coatings) refer to the respective manufacture's maintenance guidelines.
Q. When can StreetPrint be opened to traffic?
A. Left uncoated, StreetPrint can be opened immediately to traffic. If a finishing system is being used (such as coatings) refer to the coating manufacturer's recommendations.
